Blessings to All. There´s a Grand Sextile in the skies until (circa) 16.15 GMT/UTC time on May 10th 2016 – so 6 hours from the time this post goes up!
Grand Sextiles look like a Hexagram, or the Star of David formation. You see one upwards and one downwards facing triangle intersecting with one another, surrounded by a six sided hexagon. We call this the intersection of two Grand Trines in complementary signs (Earth/Water, Fire/Air) – typically speaking – surrounded by six sextile aspects.
When this formation comes up, what happens is that we collectively enter a portal of intense manifestation. It is a powerful time to set intention for things that you would like to birth into your own reality – and to go out and take the steps necessary.
2 Grand Trines make up today´s alignment:
Earth: Pluto Retrograde (17 Capricorn) – North Node (18 Virgo) , Jupiter NOW STATIONED DIRECT ( yesss! at 13 Virgo) – Venus (12 Taurus), Mercury Retrograde (18 Taurus), Sun (20 Taurus), Vesta (27 Taurus)
Water: Neptune (11 Pisces) – Poseidon Retrograde (11 Scorpio) – Moon (Cancer transit)
The Grand Earth Trine intensely focuses upon the theme of manifestation in this material plane. It becomes imperative to take concrete steps towards building the form of reality you wish you inhabit. Even if they´re small, baby steps – they count big time (always, but especially so with this alignment).
With Pluto, North Node, Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, Sun and Vesta in the mix – we see that this trine not only asks us to question the way we inhabit, structure and order our personal lives, but also how we live as part of larger partnerships – and collective institutions.
It is important to look at the nuts and bolts of how we live – daily habits, housekeeping, rituals, abolutions, the way we structure our time – to actually find answers to larger questions.
Rather than the Devil, the Answer lies in the Details.
You will be called to give up old ideas about your relationship with the material world and to move into newer ones in greater alignment with your Path and Purpose.
For some, it will be the renunciation of worldly goods – and for others – it will be the realization that renunciation is a different form of escape.
Depends on who you are, and what you´re doing in this reality.
The Grand Water Trine is a little more esoteric in its focus.
Neptune asks us to look into, and beyond the veil of Maya that we may find some form of realization or attunement with Spirit. It has been asking us to take this journey, for some time now, as it transits through its home sign of Pisces.
Poseidon is a Uranian body who is often likened to Neptune and “Spirituality, truth, ideation, enlightenment, illumination. Wisdom and culture … Poseidon has an affinity for Pisces and its glyph looks like a sideways version of Pisces” (www.arlenekramer.net). In Scorpio, Poseidon asks us to equally seek Spirit – not only through the watery realms past the veil, but through our relationship with Shadow. It is a time of great truth-telling, especially we come to terms with how our spiritual paths may empower us, and when spirituality becomes a proxy for the search of power and control.
The Moon in Cancer, moving through its own sign, opens our intuitive and emotional channels tremendously at this time through certain points of triggering/awakening. Be it family, connection with home, ancestry, or any other concept or space that makes you feel that you ´belong´ (or not).
When you put all of that together, I´d summarize this Grand Sextile as an opportunity to get real not only with what you feel and believe, but also with how you exist in this material realm. Spirit and Matter are not as separate as many of us have been conditioned to believe. I refer you to a previous article of mine for further discussion on this theme –http://wp.me/p4OUNS-17z – if so required.
In terms of practical things you can do:
Whether it´s taking a walk, sitting under a tree or journaling – find some kind of practice that allows you to reflect. Not just with the mind, but also with some aspect of the physical body and sensorial experience.
Observe what you feel. What you long for. And write these down or record them in a way that is meaningful for you.
Start thinking about concrete ways of making that happen. If you have overdue commitments, fulfill them now.
And in addition to all this practical stuff – spend a little time sitting with the elements, or with your personal conception of Spirit. And just Be. You don´t need to beg, borrow, bargain or barter with the Cosmos. Sometimes just sitting with it – is all that is required.
Create a ritual of release, preferably by water, for whatever needs to be let go of at this time. You can symbolize what you´re letting go of with environmentally friendly objects – be it soil, petals, get imaginative. Some will let go of relationships, others release the hold of particular ways of seeing the world – and for others it will be physical items like clothing or excess baggage. Whatever needs to go, let it go now.
Once you´re done with all that, start filling the space you have just cleared with positive and uplifting vibrations. Incense works, so does meditation or visualization – or even the satisfaction you get with a good, healthy meal. Celebrate the release and the steps you have taken towards anchoring yourself in a healthier relationship with Matter and Spirit.
Let yourself observe and feel what rises to the surface at this time – but remember to couple it all with physical action. Baby steps count big time now!
Blessings to All,
