SUN CONJUNCT NESSUS AT 0 PISCES: SHINING THE SPOTLIGHT ON THE ‘ABUSER’S ASTEROID’ **TRIGGER WARNING**
Blessings All. For the past two days, we have had a celestial spotlight shining upon our deepest wounds, memories of trauma, abuse, sexual violence, rape – often spanning across generations. Nessus is commonly known as the ‘abuser’s asteroid’ and is used to indicate positions in chart where are most likely to fall into the abuser/abused polarity. This isn’t a happy asteroid in itself as it speaks of a profound sense of disconnection, which leaves one feeling alone, vulnerable, faithless.
I’m very grateful to have encountered a fantastic take on Nessus some time ago, where astrologer Christine Sarah (http://sarah-truthrevealed.blogspot.com/…/nessus-wounded-er… )expertly argues that Nessus is the manifestation of a ‘Wounded Eros’. Eros relates to passion, intimacy and an intensely powerful, primal connection with Source. As I see it, It is the spiritual umbilical that connects us to the Source of Life and Spirit within ourselves.
When this line is disconnected or hampered through abuse (Nessus), the feeling of being alive, connected and able to celebrate that life-spark flowing through our veins is much harder to find. We already felt the profound influence of Nessus at the time of the Aquarian/Piscean New Moon, and have already – in our own ways – chosen to respond to its challenge.
Many of us will be facing these past scars, memories of abuse and traumatic responses to such legacies. But we do so not to re-live the past, but to discover ways in which these wounds and vulnerabilities can be healed, reconnecting with Eros once more.
This is a vulnerable time for many, do your level best to avoid falling into the abuser/victim polarity. If you find yourself in a situation where you are vulnerable (from present abuse), find a way to get to a safe place. I was honestly considering whether I should be writing about this – but a domestic incident that took place in the apartment right in front of me (and a random query from a friend) convinced me otherwise.
Let the Spotlight shine on those old hurts my friends, and prepare to release them so that you may, once again, find that sense of Wholeness, Connection and Intimacy with Source. Please make sure you are in a safe environment to process the strong emotions coming up at this time.
Blessings to All,
